Oasis

The Oasis that embraced me,
Has dried up,
And I am thirsty,
For a love that shall not leave me,
In a shattered paradise.

Follow You

Wave by wave does my emotion,
Chain my heart, to follow you.
Step by step, in endless motion,
I shall follow, and stay true.

Mediocrity

When life demands, you bend and twist,
The call, of your heart, you resist.
The path is clear, but you are still,
Frozen by love,
Of mediocrity.

Song

A woman's song called out to me,
And asked, "How have you been?
What drives your heart? What love you most?
What treasures have you seen?"

I turned around, and tried to say,
"My path is clearly set.
I know my heart and what I want,
I have not one regret.

But she would not accept this lie,
And sang to draw me close to her.
My feet moved of their own free will,
I'd never felt such love before.

I heard the meaning of my life,
Spelled out in words I could not understand.
Her voice required more of me,
And I could not refuse her this demand.

For she had shown me something,
Few have ever seen.
My muse had come to life,
Before my eyes- I saw my dream.

Train

This speeding train that carries me away,
Can't carry me away from you for long.
For I shall take another train today,
And it will be as if I'd never gone.

Inside My Head

You enter my mind,
And make my head your playground.
What will you find?
What are you searching for?

And as you run around,
I stumble, walking into walls.
Please tell me that you've found,
What you were looking for.

Inside my head, inside my thoughts,
You gently poke and confuse.
I'm feeling sore, but I cannot,
Evict a playful muse.

Memory

We met in the dark,
Of a day that has passed.
And now we've forgotten,
What we thought would last.

Your voice I remember,
And the fire still burns.
To relive once that memory,
My heart, still yearns.

This Time I'll Change

Death comes quickly to his past,
When he decides to change his ways.
But it comes back again at last,
As his mind wanders when he plays.

"A harmless way to pass the time,"
He thinks as he logs in again.
"I can stop anytime I want,
After all, it's just a game."

But as the night, passes to day,
He is exactly where he was.
And as he fails to change his ways,
He's always blind to the cause.

Apple

Take this apple that I've grown,
My love, for you, and you alone.
I picked it from my apple tree,
Which you can always come and see.

Nostalgia

Upon your throne you sit and dream,
Of days gone by, and days that seem,
To last forever in your mind,
But which again, you cannot find.

You reminisce, of days gone past,
That you had always thought would last.
But all they do is hold you back,
Your mind is stuck, on what you lack.

So leave behind the things you've lost,
And take in hand what you love most.
Nostalgia has a hefty price,
And is indeed a vicious vice.

Together

Though you may have lost your way,
And know not where to go.
The only thing that I can say,
Is that I love you still.

And though you might not come back home,
And though you might be changed,
I will not let you be alone.
Whether for good or ill.

Crescent

The moon takes a cue from your smile,
And smiles in turn, a crescent in the night.
All the world is entranced for a while,
Though they look at the moon,
They see you, in the light.

Sea of Music

You softly strummed the strings of your guitar,
I turned and listened to your melody,
And when you sang with perfect harmony,
I felt that I was near, though I was far.

I took a step ahead unconsciously,
And revelled in the sound of every note,
The flow of music keeping me afloat,
Though I had long since drowned within your sea.

Flower

The flower will bloom,
Despite knowing that soon,
It's fragile life will end,
By a human hand.

Her Voice

I have no escape from the songs that she sings,
They haunt me by day, and they live in my dreams.
Her voice captivates me and keeps me entranced,
Though I am imprisoned, I don't feel alarmed.

I Wait for You

I lie and rest in tranquil peace,
The thought of you puts me at ease.
Removes all pain I've ever had,
Forbids my heart from being sad.

Come home and rest within my arms,
And put on all your lovely charms.
I will embrace you as you are,
My Love, you're often much too far.

Clay

The formless clay that's in my hands,
I carve and shape until it stands,
Before me, finished and complete,
A work of art- no easy feat.

New Graduate

He graduates top of his class,
And nothing will stand in his way.
His papers are marked with A plus,
His honors are here to stay.

Seven Days a Week

The seven days that fill her week,
Are full of burdens from her work.
And the monotony of it,
Brings sadness she cannot avert.

At some point she recalls her youth,
And wonders when her love was lost.
Did she dismiss it as non-truth?
Did she ignore the hefty cost?

But in her mind there is no place,
To wonder if her choice was good.
So every morning, every day.
She works as every good girl should.

Loyalty

The loyalty you ask of me,
My love, I'll grant most heartily.
For you are one that I adore,
And want to be with more and more.

But one thing that I ask of you,
Is that you also remain true.
To yourself as well as me,
Never forsaking loyalty.

Insult

My lady, you insulted me,
When you rejected my advance.
As every eye could plainly see,
You wanted to be in my arms.

But you are scared of what will come,
When I take you from your home,
And show to you all of the fun,
You can have when not alone.

Saturday 27 January 2007

Song of Blades

Under the crimson sky of mournful dusk,
The song of blades,
Persisted in its deadly rhythm.
And night would be the only thing to last,
For those of us,
Whose blades failed to listen.

Friday 26 January 2007

Lorrie

Lorrie was here on the day,
She came of age at seventeen.
In my arms peacefully she lay,
She looked as if in a dream.

I looked into her eyes and said,
"You know all the things you want,
And all the challenges you've met,
Have crumbled as your dreams unfold."

She smiled as I told her,
Things she already knew.
She said, "I like to hear that,
Because it comes from you."

Trade

Go forward you,
And walk the world,
Unflinching sons of liberty.
It's you of whom stories are told,
Tales of selfish purity.

Lift up the sky,
With your tall homes,
And dig inside the earth for wealth.
Trade in the many things you own,
For things that you want for yourself.

Queen

She holds the reins of power,
In the long folds of her gown.
Her kingdom is the only lover,
That she has ever known.

Her Poem

The glowing light that's all around her,
Is an illusionary measure,
Of the extraordinary pleasure,
Which her existence gives to me.

And when I look at what she grants me,
Simply with a lazy smile,
As if she is in denial,
Of the effect she has on me,

I laugh and love her all the more,
And write my verse quietly,
So that I may read it proudly,
The next time that she smiles at me.

Number One

She sings a lullaby to him,
Though he's in pain and cannot win.
He lies in bed, waiting for death,
The only thing left, is to rest.
But she will wait until it's done,
Singing to her number one.

Her Pet

Her pet smiles in her embrace,
And cuddles deeper in her arms.
As this is, the only place,
Where he feels safe, and free from harm.

She loves him with all of her heart,
And hugs him till his breath is gone.
So every morning, when they part,
He knows that- she will come home.
